UP member accused of grabbing land, extortion

A UP member named Mainul Islam Bhuiyan along with 10-12 unidentified men were accused in a case for their alleged involvement in land grabbing, extortion and plunder at Ashulia of Savar. 

Alamgir Khan, owner of a market in Ashulia, filed the case with Ashulia Police Station on Sunday night. 

Mainul Islam Bhuiyan is also accused in many cases including land grabbing, extortion charges.

According to the case statement, on September 6, Mainul Bhuiyan, member of Swanirvar Dhamsona Union Parishad, along with some miscreants attacked  M.N market and looted goods worth Tk about one crore after beating the wholesale traders of the market  with domestic weapons. Mainul Bhuiyan tried to grabbing the market several times.

On other hand, Mainul Islam Bhuiyan claimed that he is the owner of M.N market and the land of the market.

He said, “We are the owner of the market and the land with paternal line. I constructed even the market. The case has been filed with intent  to degrade socially.” Rejaul Haque Dipu, Officer-in-Charge of Ashulia Police Station, confirmed the matter of case. He said, “The drive is underway to arrest of the accused.”
