UP chairman Abdur Rashid expelled from AL

Rajakar Abdur Rashid Mia, Chairman of Halidhani Union Parishad in Jhenidah Sadar upazila and the union Awami League president who was arrested in the war crimes case, has been expelled from the party. Senior vice president of the unit Abul Hashem was given the charge.

President of Jhenidah Sadar upazila Awami League Advocate Abdur Rashid and general secretary Shahidul Islam Hiron confirmed the matter.

According to the sources, the process is going on to remove the name of Abdur Rashid from the positions of the president at Halidhani High School and local madrasah.

Locals alleged, Rajakar Abdur Rashid had collected Taka several lakh during recruitment of teachers and staff. They also demanded to remove the school for the disabled people in the name of Rajakar Abdur Rashid as he had collected money from the job seekers in the school. But they are confused whether the school could be nationalized or not.

Rajakar Abdur Rashid Mia was arrested with on October 21 in Jhenidah.
