As a good-will gift of Bangla New Year-1427, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Puthia Md Oliuzzaman has offered a COVID-19 infected person of Bogurapara village under Zeupara union at the upazila in Rajshahi with 31 items of gift items in three packages including flower, rice, pulse and other essentials.
On the morning of 14 April, Oliuzzaman went near house of the infected person and put the gift packages in front of the entrance of his house.
The 50-year old person is a tailor by profession and works at a shop at Shyamoli in Dhaka. Recently, he arrived at his village home with slight fever and cold. After testing, the result was found positive. Following detection of corona infected person, 43 surrounding houses and business establishments of the village were kept under lockdown.
During his visit, UNO Oliuzzaman talked to the corona infected person over mobile phone and exchanged views with him. The UNO also advised him not to be panicky saying the upazila administration is always with him. Oliuzaman said that he visited the house to encourage the Covid-19 infected person.
The person was the first-ever Coronavirus infected patient in Rajshahi division. Another person’s Coronavirus test result also found positive at Bagmara Upazila who arrived his village home from Narayanganj recently and on Monday, one more female Coronavirus patient was detected in Puthia totalling three corona positive patients so far in the district. All three Corona patients have been kept under home isolation.
