UNO assistance for a helpless headmaster

With the gracious step of Thakurgaon Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), the livelihood of a formerly headmaster Joynal Abedin has started to be changed. 

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Mamun has taken the responsibility for the residential arrangement, living and treatment cost of the former Head Master who had been leading a solitary life in a deserted house for a long time. 

It is learnt, Joynal Abedin, former Head Master of Kharibari High School of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila had been working sincerely in the institution. On his relentless effort, the school got the approval for 'giving lessons' and a new building for the school was constructed. But, due to mysterious reason, the school governing body sacked him from the job without assigning any reason.

Protesting against such inhuman decision of the school governing body, Joynal Abedin filed a case with the court. But, he turned to a pauper to continue the case. Having no houses of his own or any close relatives, he started to live alone at a deserted house on Buribandh of Water Development Board. The room was finished with only one Chowki, a table and some clothing with no electric connection, no running water and toilet facilities. 

Joynal Abedin has been suffering from various diseases including pain in the waist. He has no ability to purchase food and medicine. The cloth he has been wearing is also torn. There is no one to take care of this confirmed-bachelor. He used to spend his days lying beside the road at Baksher Hat under Akcha union of Thakurgaon Sadar district and lives on the scanty of alms the local people give his graciously. He also often starve by not getting enough money to purchase food. 

Recently, the news was published on the pitiable condition of this educationist. On Thursday, Member of Akcha union Parishad took Joynal Abedin to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Mamun who gave a patience hearing of the condition of Head Master Joynul Abedin and assured to present him a concrete house offered by the Prime Minister and also a card for elderly allowance.

Abdullah Al Mamun informed, every one of the local administration was aware of the condition of Head Master Joynal Abedin. He was called to his office as directed by the Deputy Commissioner and the decision has been taken to offer him a house under the Residential Project of the Prime Minister. Moreover, he will be given an elderly allowance card and financial assistance for his treatment.
