Planning Minister MA Mannan on Saturday said the important bodies like Finance Ministry, Bangladesh Bank are involved with the process of universal pension scheme and there have no relations of pension scheme with the duration of the government.
"A segment of people are not refunding the money after taking as loan from the country's financial institutes. Bulk amount of credit, approved even sometimes with the recommendations of influential quarters, are inspiring corruption in the society, " he said.
Minister was addressing as chief guest at a debate completion of students arranged by the 'Debate for Democracy' in the capital.
'Debate for Democracy' Chairman Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron moderated the competition.
Responding to a query, Minister also said the Universal Pension Scheme will exist even if the government is changed as the important government bodies like Finance Ministry, Bangladesh Bank are involved with the process of pension scheme and there have no relations of the scheme with the duration of the government.
Minister said there have no problem if someone earn honestly and pay taxes in a proper way and they must take permission from Bangladesh Bank to take money outside the country.
