Mr. Ali is a former President of BAIRA, Chairman of Eastern Bank Ltd, as well as Shareholder Directorship of different financial institutions and a number of business bodies. Mr Ali is also a member of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI). Being a freedom fighter and a philanthropist Mr. Ali’s contribution towards development of the country is truly significant.
Mr. Mohd. Noor Ali is a prominent entrepreneur of the country having interest in Real Estate, Hospitality Management & Tourism sector, Ceramic Industry, Power Plants, Manpower Export, Banking Services, Housing Finance & Investment, Human Resource Development, Land Development and many other businesses.
He is the Managing Director of Unique Hotel & Resorts Limited and the Unique Group, a renowned business conglomerate in Bangladesh. Mr. Ali is perhaps the only Bangladeshi entrepreneur who has ventured to set up a 5-Star Hotel (The Westin Dhaka) in the private sector. The Westin Dhaka is already very popular amongst the local and foreign communities. During the eight years of its business operation The Westin Dhaka has achieved enviable success under Mr. Ali’s leadership.
Mr. Mohd. Noor Ali is involved in many social and philanthropic activities. He has linkage with various trade Bodies and Associations. He is the life member of Gulshan Club Ltd. and Dhaka University Alumni Association.
He completed his Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) in Sociology from University of Dhaka in 1977. He also did his Master’s degree in Social Science in Sociology from the same university in 1978. A man of strong commitment and also very hard working, Mr. Noor Ali has made a conglomerate namely Unique Group of Companies within a very short period of time. This group is engaged in building a world of happiness, peace and prosperity through its honest and sincere efforts by developing products, services and facilities in multiple sectors of the economy.
He is conducting business in the areas of Real Estate, Electrical Power Plants, Air Travel, Aviation Services, Tourism, Recruiting Manpower, Vocational Training, Ceramic Products, Banking services, Housing Finance, Hotel Services and through other commercial and industrial projects.
Alongside business activities, he is involved in social welfare activities as part of social commitment by establishing the Unique Kalyan Trust. It has been formed to render social and educational services in Bangladesh particularly in the area of Nawabganj since 1987.
