An unidentified young man was found murdered in Sirajganj’s Sadar upazila early Thursday morning. Police said the victim had been hacked and his throat slit by unidentified assailants.
The body was recovered from a paved road in the Khudra Shialkol area of the upazila, said Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mokhlesur Rahman.
Police estimate the victim to be around 24 to 25 years old but have not yet confirmed his identity. The body was sent to the morgue at Shaheed M. Monsur Ali Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
OC Mokhlesur Rahman said, “The youth was killed sometime during the night. The killers hacked him and slit his throat before fleeing the scene, leaving the body on the roadside.”
Police recovered a motorcycle and a helmet from the spot, which are believed to belong to the victim. Law enforcement officials are working to identify the deceased and determine the motive behind the killing. An investigation is underway.
