‘Understanding technopreneurship a new challenge for entrepreneurs’

23rd natl convention of IDEB begins on February 2

Understanding the technopreneurship being inspired with technology in the era of 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) poses a new challenge to the country's entrepreneurs, experts said at a press conference on Tuesday. "Hardening the position of our own in the global job market by turning the population into workforces through mitigating the existing skill gap and enhancing productivity has also been a big challenge for us", they said.

The remarks were made in a press conference, organised by the Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) ahead of the 23rd national Convention of IDEB and International Conference styled, 'Skills Readiness for achieving SDGs and adopting IR 4.0", at the Seminar hall, IDEB Bhaban, Kakrail in the capital. 

President of IDEB, AKMA Hamid, General Secretary, Md. Shamsur Rahman, Additional Secretary, Technical and madrasha Education Board, Md. Manirujjaman, Additional Secretary, Higher Education Division, Nazmul Alam Khan, Sirajul Islam and other senior office bearers of IDEB were present on the occasion.

Reading out a written handout, IDEB General Secretary, Md. Shamsur Rahman said utilizing the potentials of 4th IR and facing its challenges by materializing the demographic dividend has been a big consideration for the nation, so there have no alternative to development of skills in graduating to the status of developed nation by the year 2041.

IBEB organising the 3 day international convention jointly with Colombo Plan International College in association of Ministry of Education at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center (BICC), starting from February 2. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the convention at the BICC on January 02 while Education Minister Dr. Dipu Mani and Deputy Minister for Education, Barrister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel will attend the ceremony as special guest.

Two parallel session will take place on the opening day styled, 'Skills Readiness for adopting IR 4.0 and 'Skills for Growth acceleration and achieving SDGs' . A few technical and thematic sessions will take place a different venues in the three day's convention which will be moderated and facilitated by local and foreign experts in the relevant fields.
