Ulipur traders demand arrest of accused in attempt to murder case

Traders held a human chain and protest meeting demanding the arrest of the accused in the case of the attempt to kill Alamgir Hossain (26), a medicine dealer, with a chapati in broad daylight at Ulipur of Kurigram. On Wednesday (August 10) at 11 am, an hour-long human chain was held at Ulipur-Kurigram Road (Bara Masjid intersection) on the initiative of Ulipur Merchants Association.

Ulipur Merchants Association President Soumendra Prasad Pandey Gaba, General Secretary Mainul Hossain Mandal Dulu, Organizing Secretary Noore Alam Siddiqui, Executive Member S.M. Al Mamun Sabuj, Abdul Mannan, Iqbal Hossain Chand etc. Apart from this, people from all walks of life including businessmen were present in the human chain. Speakers in the human chain said that such an open terrorist incident has never happened in Ulipur before. The accused should be arrested quickly. If the police fail to arrest the accused, a larger program will be given.

In this regard, Ulipur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Imtiaz Kabir said, the accused has been identified. Those involved in the incident have been found. Efforts are being made to arrest the accused with the help of information technology.

Incidentally, on August 6 at 5:30 in the afternoon, Alamgir Hossain, the owner of Ulipur Thana Mor Health Care Medicine Corner, went to buy medicine at Guinea Pharmacy. Masud alias Masud Rana (35) ran away after being hacked with a chapati from behind. Later, Alamgir was rescued in critical condition and admitted to Kurigram Sadar Hospital after receiving first aid at Ulipur Hospital. In this incident, Alamgir's wife Farzana Begum filed a case against 2-3 unidentified people including Masud Rana, son of Asad Ali of Hayat Khan Kura village, as a plaintiff in Ulipur police station.
