UCEP Bangladesh celebrate World Youth Skills Day 2023

UCEP Bangladesh, a prominent non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to technical education, recently celebrated World Youth Skills Day at its Head Office in the capital city. The event, held on Saturday, was graced by the presence of Md. Ali Akbar Khan, Chairman of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, who attended as the Chief Guest. The program was presided over by Dr. Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director of UCEP Bangladesh and former Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister.

During the event, the Executive Director emphasized the crucial role of technical and vocational education and training in harnessing the vast human resources of the country and transforming them into a skilled workforce. He highlighted UCEP Bangladesh's significant contribution among NGOs in expanding technical education and nurturing skilled human resources within Bangladesh. Additionally, he expressed the organization's willingness to collaborate with the Labor Ministry in the pursuit of creating a skilled workforce through the expansion of career-oriented education.

The esteemed Chief Guest commended UCEP Bangladesh for its outstanding efforts in expanding technical education and emphasized the vital importance of such education for the country's youth. He expressed his gratitude to UCEP Bangladesh for initiating various training programs focused on professional skills development, entrepreneurship, and courses related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). 

He acknowledged that these initiatives would contribute to the achievement of the country's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and expressed his expectation that UCEP Bangladesh would continue to play a pivotal role in building a skilled workforce in the future.

The program concluded with an enthralling cultural performance by the students of UCEP Bangladesh, showcasing their talents and skills.

World Youth Skills Day, observed annually on July 15th, aims to raise awareness of the importance of empowering young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship.
