Aiming to help people in staying home to contain the spread of COVID-19, Uber Eats has partnered with grocery chains and small independent businesses in Dhaka to deliver essential commodities to the customers’ doorsteps, reports BSS.

Following the temporary closure of all dine-in restaurants and shopping centres, Uber Eats, complying with all hygiene measures and traffic restrictions, would deliver the essential goods to customers within in the same day. Uber has taken the move to support the government’s objectives for limited mobility in this unwanted situation, said a press release today.

“In these unprecedented times, we are privileged to be able to support authorities and help citizens meet their everyday needs,” said Misha Ali, Uber Eats Lead, Bangladesh. By sharing its technology and vast network of delivery partners with the government, Uber is helping to free up precious state resources so that they can be channeled towards life-saving efforts, said the Uber release.
