Typhoid Vaccination Campaign launched in Narail

The Typhoid Vaccination Campaign was officially inaugurated in Narail on Sunday morning. The inaugural event was held at Narail Government Girls’ School, with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sharmin Akter Jahan attending as the chief guest.

Among others present were Narail Civil Surgeon Dr Md Abdur Rashid, DD LG of the DC office Julia Sukaina, Dr Ismail Hossen Bappi, District Education Officer Md Mohiuddin, District EPI Superintendent Md Habibur Rahman, and Narail Press Club Vice-President Sultan Mahmood.

According to officials, a total of 2,13,715 children aged between nine months and under 15 years are expected to receive the typhoid vaccine across all three upazilas of the district.

The campaign began on 12 October and will continue until 13 November, spanning 18 working days in two phases. It is being implemented under the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI).

To ensure smooth delivery, 964 vaccination centres have been set up throughout the district, with more than 800 centres located in schools. Health authorities have urged parents to ensure their children are vaccinated during the campaign period.
