Two young men were allegedly beaten to death in the Ahmadnagar area under Dar us Salam Police Station in the capital on Saturday morning.
Being informed, police recovered one body from a house in the Haddi Patti area of Ahmad Nagar and the other from the nearby road, said Officer-in-Charge of Darus Salam Police Station Rakibul Hasan.
He said the identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed.
"We rushed to the spot after being informed about the incident. Locals said it happened after or before around 12 noon ," the OC said, adding that efforts are underway to identify the perpetrators.
He also said that the reason behind the incident remains unknown as yet. The bodies have been sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Darus Salam Zone under Mirpur Division, Salek Mohammad Zakaria, told media that one of the deceased might have had a drug-related case filed against him with Darus Salam Police Station just the previous day.
