Two finalists, Comilla Victorians and Fortune Barishal skippers, were absent during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) photoshoot event at Ahsan Manzil Museum in Dhaka on Thursday.

Captain Tamim Iqbal of Barishal Fortune and Liton Das, captain of Comilla, were expected at the event, according to the schedule, which was announced on Wednesday by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

However, none of the captains were present even hours after the scheduled time of the event, which was at 10 a.m. on the day.

Instead of the two captains, Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Jaker Ali were present as the representatives of their respective teams, Barishal and Comilla Victorians, at the event.

They posed with the trophy and also attended the press conference, which was originally supposed to feature the captains of the two finalists.  It is not the first time that such a thing has happened in the BPL, as several times the board has failed to ensure the captains' presence for the pre-tournament captains' photoshoot.

The Tamim-led Barishal will vie for their maiden trophy in the all-important final against the reigning champions, the Comilla Victorians, the tournament's most successful side with four titles, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur today (Friday).
