Savar Upazila Health Department during a drive on Tuesday sealed off two private hospitals in the area on charge of invalid documents.
The two institutions are: Adnan Hospital and Diagnostic Centre located in Rajfulbaria and Rahman Specialized Hospital in Hemayetpur.
Both the establishments were providing healthcare services without valid documents for long time.
Mohammad Sayemul Huda, the upazila health and family planning officer of Savar, took the initiative regarding this matter on Tuesday.
Dr. Mohammad Sayemul Huda said, "We do not want any illegal hospitals or diagnostic centres in Savar.
We are working on a zero-tolerance policy to create a safer and more inclusive work environment.
Following this directive, an investigation and inspection programme was conducted at three hospitals on Tuesday afternoon as per the instructions of the Health Directorate.
As two of the institutions failed to produce valid documents and employee certificates, all activities of the hospitals have been sealed off."
He further added, "An institution named Pratyasha Health Care Limited has been cautioned until evening to comply with the 10 directives of the Health Directorate."
He also mentioned that instructions have been given not to provide services in illegal hospitals in Savar.
During the campaign, Dr. M. Saidur Rahman, RMO of Savar Upazila Health Complex, Sanitary Inspector of Savar Upazila Health Complex, and Sub-Inspector of Savar Model Police Station Al Mamun Kabir were present.
