National team miss three vital players

Two preparation matches in Saudi Arabia

Bangladesh national football team will  play two preparation matches in Saudi Arabia when the team will have a huge setback with missing three vital players, Tariq Qazi, Sohel Rana will not available for their upcoming match of the World Cup 2026 and the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers against Palestine.    Meanwhile, Bangladesh will resume the second round of the World Cup and the Asian Cup qualifiers on March 21 in Kuwait City against Palestine.

Tariq Qazi, the stopper back of Bashundhara Kings and one of the key players of the national team had an injury during a match in the Federation Cup football against Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and could not play three league matches for his team. Therefore, he will be out of action for few days. So Kuwait bound Bangladesh national team will miss the England born Bangladeshi booter and it is also uncertain whenever he will come round and will be available for the team. 

Javier Cabrera will also miss the service of another important player Sheikh Morsalin who is also injured. 

The versatile young booter Morsalin, who plays as an attacking midfielder and can also play as central midfielder, has already sealed his room in the national squad and drew attention of all with his brilliant performances.

Morsalin, who scored four goals in his nine international appearances, had an injury during his league match against Fortis FC. 

Sohel Rana, the experienced midfielder will also miss the Word Cup and Asian qualifiers when he has already two yellow cards.

However, Bangladesh national team is set to leave for Saudi Arabia on March 2 for almost a two-week camp in Taif before their travel to Kuwait to play the against Palestine.

National team’s assistant coach Hassan Al Mamun, when talking to the Bangladesh Post on Wednesday informed that they will leave Dhaka for Saudi Arabia on Saturday and will have 13 days camp in Taif when they will start their practice session Taif from March 3 and will leave for Kuwait City on March 15. 

Hassan Mamun, replying to a query said, “During our camp in Taif, we will play two preparation matches and will try to manage Sudan national team. If the Sudan team will not available then will try any of Saudi Club teams to play the practice matches.” Mamun, former national star, replying to another query about the players’ fitness after playing in the league and Federation Cup, said, “Players are keeping well and there is no question about tiredness but they are now on their peak. They played only nine league matches and few matches of Federation Cup. Coach has already granted them a weeklong leave for physical recovery and for mental freshness.”

“We also gave them some programs to follow during the leave to keep up their fitness. All the players are professional, so they are very much cautious about their fitness.”

The match against Palestine will take place at the neutral venue in Kuwait City when it would be the away match for Bangladesh and the home match will take place March 26.
