Two motorcycle riders killed in Natore road accident

Two motorcycle riders were killed in a road accident at PTI crossing on the Natore-Rajshahi bypass road in Natore district on Monday night.

The deceased were identified as Mohammed Tarek, 26, son of Sohrab Hossain and Md Rakib, 22, son of Ningal Pramanik, both are residents of Diyarvita village in Natore Sadar upazila.

The accident took place in the area when a Rajshahi-bound pickup van collided head-on with a motorcycle, leaving the two bike riders injured.

The injured were sent to Natore Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Tarek dead.

Later, Md. Rakib was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, said officer-in-charge (OC) of Natore police station Mansoor Rahman.

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
