Two militants arrested

Law enforcers arrested two members of a banned terrorist group named, Neo JMB from the capital. Monirul Islam, chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police disclosed it. While addressing at a press conference at DMP Media Center in the city, he said,” The arrested were masterminds in the recent militant attacks in five place targeting police.”

Getting secrete information, a team of CTTC arrested Md Jamal Uddin Rafique and Md Anwar Hossain from city’s Jatrabari area at 9:30pm. Four mobile phones and a laptop were seized from their possessions. During the primary interrogation, the arrested militants admitted that they were active members of Neo JMB.

They also confessed that they directly took part in the recent five terrorist attacks targeting police. Rafique made the powerful bombs at his own residence which were used in the attacks. He is also the leader of the group. About his educational background, the CTTC chief said, “Rafique completed his engineering degree from Khulna University.”

Another arrested Anwar is a driver. He was also involved in driving profession. He took part in four militant attacks led by Rafique. The arrested were spreading radical video clips wearing black dress, toy guns and suicidal vest in different social networking sites. Earlier, police arrested Farid Uddin Rumi, Abdullah Azmir,Mehedi Hasan Tamim and Mishuk Khan from a terrorist den in Narayanganj.
