Two matches draw in BPL

Federation Cup champions Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) shared point with Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra when the match ended in 1-1 in the Bangladesh Premier League second round at the Rafique Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Friday. 

In the day’s other match of the league at Bir Sreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium, Munshiganj, Rahmatganj Musalim Friends Society (RMFS) and Brother Union (BU) also shared the points. MSC took the lead in the match in ten minutes. 

Mali striker Souleyman Diabate scored for Mohammedan midfielder Shahriar Emon provided him the pass. 

The Black and Whites, after taking leadon early 10th minute, produced series of attacks on Sheikh Russel but the forwards failed to utilize the opportunities came to their ways to increase the margin, as they have to end the first half on 1-0.

The scenario has changed in the second half, as Sheikh Russel KC bounced back to equalized in margin through forward Soleman Landry.  

After a super combination of Defender Jintu Mia with forward Sumon Reza, Soleman Landry got the possession an open space inside the area and edged past the Mohammedan goalkeeper Sujon to push the ball in the open net on 64th minute (1-1).

MSC and Sheikh Russel KC both have four points from two matches.   

BSS add,  Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society split point with Brothers Union Club when their match ended in a 2-2 goal draw in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football held at Shaheed Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

In the day's match, Uzbek midfielder Otabek Valizhonov put Brothers Union Club ahead in the 18th minute from a penalty while Ghanian forward Ernest Boateng restored the parity for Rahmatganj in the 25th minute of the match.

After the breather, Brothers Union Club took the lead again as forward Mahbubur Rahman Sufil scored the second goal in the 67th minute, but Rahmatganj staged a brilliant fight back in the match as forward Samin Yasir Juel level the margin in the 88th minute of the match.

Earlier, the traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj forced Abahani Limited, Dhaka to play a 1-1 goal draw while the Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club suffered a 2-5 goal defeat to holders Bashundhara Kings, both their respective first round matches.
