Two persons were killed and five others injured when a night coach collided with a train at Kaliakoir rail gate under Gazipur district around 4-30 am on Saturday. Train communication from Northern and the Southern districts to Dhaka remained suspended for a while following the accident.
Railway sources informed, the Nilsagar Express train from Chilahati was crossing through Sonakhali rail crossing of Kaliakoir at 4-30 am while a night coach passing through the crossing collided with the train. As a result, the bus was badly damaged killing one female passenger on the spot and another passenger Masud (35) died after his admission to Kaliakoir Health Complex.
Train communication from Dhaka to Northern and Southern region remained suspended for a while it resumed from 9-20 am.
