Two killed in separate incidents in Ctg

Two people including a security guard were killed in separate incidents in the city and district on Sunday, reports BSS. The victims were identified as mason Akkas Ali, 25, son of Foiznur, hailed from Sunamganj district and Mohammad Mofizur Rahman, 45, son of Mahbubul Haq Sawdagor also a night guard of Shema Steel Mills of the district.

Mason Akkas Ali died after falling from top floor of a six-storey under-construction building in city’s Textile area under Biyazid thana around 11 am Sunday. Police said Akkas received serious injuries after falling from the building. He was taken to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where the duty doctors declared him dead at about 3 pm, police sources said. Security guard Mofiz also received severe injuries after hitting by a covered van in Bhanubazar area under Sitakundu upazila of the district around 11.30 pm last night.

Alauddin Talukder, assistant sub-inspector of CMCH police outpost, said critically injured Mofiz was rushed to the hospital at about 2 am on Sunday but the on-duty physicians declared him dead after his admission. The bodies were sent to the hospital morgue, Talukder said. Police detained the covered van and its driver and two separate cases were filed in these connections, he added.
