Two kgs of crystal meth seized in Cox’s Bazar

BGB raided Teknaf in Cox's Bazar and recovered 2 kg 119 grams of crystal meth ice and 118 bottles of Burmese wine.

BGB Teknaf 2nd Battalion Commander Lt Col Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Iftekhar said in a press release on Monday afternoon.

Based on a tip-off, a patrol team of Damdamiya BOP under Teknaf BGB 2 Battalion raided Keora forest in Kamal Jora area of Naf River on Monday morning, May 23 and recovered 1.kg 58 grams of crystal meth ice. Drug traffickers were crossing the Naf River from Myanmar to Teknaf. Sensing the presence of BGB, the drug traffickers fled leaving 

the polythene wrapped items behind and the BGB members confiscated the ice.

On the other hand, another patrol team of BGB Teknaf Battalion raided the Beri Dam area of Shahpari Island on the Naf River on Monday morning and recovered 1 kg 63 grams of crystal meth ice and 118 bottles of Burmese liquor. Drug traffickers were smuggling these ice from Myanmar through the Naf River.

The BGB captain said a separate case has been filed with the Teknaf police station for drug recovery.
