Abu Zafar Md. Kamruzzaman, Judge of Speedy Trial tribunal-1 of Dhaka awarded death penalty to two house maids in murder case of Mahfuza Chowdhury Parvin, former Principal of Iden College in Dhaka on Sunday ( 4 October) noon.
The Judge fixed the date of announcement of the verdict of the case after finishing the argument of the case on September-30. Among 34 state witnesses, 27 were testified. The deposition of the case finished with testifying Alamgir Hossain, Sub-Inspector of Police of New Market police station on September-24.
It is learnt, Mahfuza Chowdhury was murdered at her own house at Elephant Road of Dhaka on Feburary-11,2018. Her husband Ismat Kadir Gama filed a case in this incident.
The chargesheet of he case was submitted to the CMM Court in Dhaka by Investigation Officer SI alamgir Hossain of New Market Police Station on July-21, 2019.
Primarily, in the charge sheet Reshma and Swapna were accused in the case while another accused Runu Begum was recommended for exemption from the charge.
Mahfuza Chowdhruy worked as the Principal of Iden College from 2009 to 2012. Her husband Ismat Quadir Gama is a Freedom Fighter.
