Nineteen yaba tablets, 190 grams of cannabis, and Tk 760 in cash were seized during an anti-narcotics operation conducted by the 9th Armed Police Battalion (APBN) in the Double Mooring police station area of Chittagong city.
Two suspected drug peddlers were arrested in the operation. The APBN Commander, Mohammad Shamsul Islam Akand, confirmed the information in a press release issued on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the arrests took place on Monday afternoon in front of Hazrat Kalu Shah Store, located on the west side of Jalda Khana in Ward No. 12, under the jurisdiction of Double Mooring police station.
The detainees have been identified as Md Swadhin (28) and Delwar Hossain, alias Rubel (29).
The operation was led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Anshu Kumar Deb of the 9th APBN, with support from Sub-Inspector Biplob Chandra Saha.
A case has been filed against the two under the Narcotics Control Act at the Double Mooring Police Station.
Further legal proceedings are underway.
