Rapid action battalion (RAB-4) on early Friday recovered 310 bottles phensedyl conducting a drive and detained two men for their alleged connection with the incident at Joybangla gate area in Savar, on capital’s outskirts.
The detainees are identified as Jakirul Islam Roni, 39, from Dinazpur district, and Md.Sumon, 26, from Jaypurhat district. Md. Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury, ASP and the media officer of RAB-4 confirmed the matter in a press release on Friday.RAB said that based on a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a drive at Joybangla gate area of Dhaka-aricha highway around 1.15 am on early Friday and recovered the phensedyl after searching a microbus. Later they detained two from the microbus for their alleged involvement with the drug dealing and seized the microbus and two mobile handsets as well. The detainees have primarily admitted their crime and said that they usually collect such drugs from country’s border area and later deliver it to capital and its adjacent area for long’, RAB said adding that preparation to file a case in this regard was underway.
