Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two alleged drug traders with 606 grams of heroin from Phulbari Rail Station in Dinajpur district on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier, the elite force received secret information that some drug traders were carrying contraband heroin by a passenger train from the area.
"Accordingly, an operational team of RAB-13 from Rangpur conducted a raid and arrested the two persons with heroin from the spot," said a press release of the force today.
The arrested persons were identified as Most. Rahima Khatun, 25, of village Ramnagar Dangapara under Godagari upazila in Rajshahi district and Md. Humayun Kabir, 48, of village Raninagar under Sadar upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
During the interrogation, the detainees admitted their involvement in drug trading in connivance with their other cohorts for a long time.
"After filing a case against the arrested persons in this connection, the elite force handed over him to Saidpur Railway Police Station in Nilphamari district," the release said.Investigation continues secretly to nab their absconding cohorts, it said.
