The Immigration Authority of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport has sent back two US and Ivory Coast citizens to their country of origin to avoid the critical coronavirus situation.

The two foreign nationals arrived on on-arrival visas. As a result, the immigration authority sent them back to their respective countries without giving them an on-arrival visa at the airport.

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Director AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan confirmed the matter.
He said that on-arrival visas were closed as per government decision till March 31. The two citizens, one from the United States and the other from Ivory Coast had travelled to in Bangladesh without any visa. As a result, both of them have been pushed back to their home countries on return flights without granting on-arrival visa.

He added, “No passengers from Europe will be able to come to Bangladesh except fromUK. On-Arrival visas for all countries have been suspended. If any Bangladeshi from a country affected by coronavirus has to stay in the self-initiated quarantine. We have implemented these issues. All airports and airlines have been instructed in this regard.”
