Two FFs, journo honoured in Jamalpur

Two freedom fighters and a journalist were honored by the Freedom Fighters Abdul Matin Mia Hiru Welfare Foundation on the occasion of the First Independence Flag Hoisting Day in Jamalpur on Wednesday.

 Honored meritorious freedom fighters Md.  Nazrul Islam Fakir, valiant freedom fighter Sohbar Ali Fakir and veteran journalist Sushant Kumar De Kanu.

 On Wednesday (March 13), a discussion meeting was held at the Jamalpur First Flag Hoisting Day Celebration Board at the District Art Academy Auditorium on that day.  

The chief guest was Chanoar Hossain Chanu, Mayor of Jamalpur .

 Joint Commissioner of Taxes Monalisa Shahreen Sushmita, daughter of brave freedom fighter Abdul Mateen Mia Hiru, gave the welcome speech in the discussion meeting held under the chairmanship of the President of the Flag Hoisting Day Celebration Board, Amir Uddin.

 Jahanara Begum, founder President of Moti Mia Welfare Foundation, Bir Muktijoddha spoke at the discussion meeting moderated by poet Syazad Ansari.  Nazrul Islam Fakir, brave freedom fighter Sohbar Ali Fakir, veteran journalist Sushant Kumar De Kanu, poet Ali Zahir, Mokhleshur Rahman, Mohabbat Ali Fakir, Jamalpur Online Journalist Network president human rights activist Jahangir Salim, etc.

 The speakers demanded to name a structure of the now-defunct historical Gouripur Kachari Field after the brave freedom fighter Abdul Matin Hiru.

 It is to be noted that on March 13, 1971, the former VP of the then government Ashek Mahmud College, Abdul Matin Mia (Hiru), a former VP of the then government Ashek Mahmud College, raised the flag of independent Bangladesh by burning the Pakistani flag at the Gauripur Kachari field.
