Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested two engineers from the city in connection with fake currency manufacturing on Sunday.
Talking to the Bangladesh Post, Deputy Commissioner ( DB-Gulshan Division) Md Moshiur Rahman confirmed it on Sunday.
He said getting secrete information a team of DB raided at Noagaon area under Kamrangirchar of the capitall Dhaka on Sunday and unearthed the fake note factory.
“We arrested three people including an woman from the fake notes factory”, he added.
Fake notes of Tk 46 lakh and huge amount of fake note making materials were also seized from their possessions. After the relaxing of the countrywide lockdown, huge numbers of people are gathering for their Eid shopping. Getting this chance, fake note rackets also became desperate to manufacture, distribute and marketing fake notes across the country, DC Moshiur said.
At the beginning they started fake note manufacturing in city’s suburb Savar. Later they shifted the factory to Kamrangirchor area in the city three months ago.
Arrested Jibon Hossain was arrested several times earlier in connection with fake note manufacturing.
Arrested Piash Karim and Imam Hossian obtained their diploma engineering degree from Barisal Polytechnics Institute in Networking Engineering and Computer Science.
They also worked in a leading telecommunication company. But later they engaged in the fake currency racket to be rich overnight.
A case was filed with Kamrangirchar Police Station in this regard.
