Two-day Science Fair ends in Rangpur

The two-day district level Science and Technology Week and Science Fair-2023 ended in Rangpur on Tuesday evening with a call for inspiring the young generation in science and technology-based modern education.

The district administration organized the events under supervision of National Science and Technology Museum and patronization of the Science and Technology Ministry marking the 44th National Science and Technology Week and Science Fair-2023.

A discussion followed by a colorful prize distribution function was arranged on the concluding day at Rangpur Zilla School auditorium in the city.

Secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions from all over the district set up stalls on the fair premises projecting diverse scientific projects, research activities and innovations and ICT-based technologies.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Chitralekha Nazneen addressed the discussion and distributed prizes among winners of different quiz and science Olympiad competitions arranged in the fair as the chief guest.

Additional Superin­tendent of Police (District Special Branch) Md. Ifte Khayer Alam attended the function as a special guest.

Additional Deputy Commi­ssioner (Education and ICT) Md. Abdul Mannan chaired the function.Associate Professor of the Department of Geography and Environ­mental Science of Begum Rokeya University Professor Md. Zakiur Rahman presented the keynote essay in the discussion.

 The speakers expressed happiness over the enormous interest of the participating young students in the fair in science and technology-based modern education and technical innovation they projected in the event.

 They said popularization of science- and ICT-based modern education among young students is a need of the time to prepare them for facing challenges of the fourth industrial revolution to attain sustainable national development.

 The chief guest said the government has taken various realistic steps to popularise science and technology-based education among the young generation to speed up the pace of national development to build a developed Bangladesh by 2041.
