The two-day long 49th 'Kathin Chibar Dan’ programme, one of the biggest religious festival of the Buddhist community people, gun at Rajban Bihar in Rangamati on Thursday.
Women entrepreneur Manjulika Chakma inaugurated programme by cutting the thread on the spinning wheel at the 'Bain Ghar' where Nirupa Dewan, acting president of the Rajban Bihar Upasak-Upasika executive council of Rangamati, its General Secretary Amiya Kanti Khisa and other dignitaries of the Upasak Upasika Council were also present.

Earlier, Pragyalankar Mahasthavira, the resident head of Rajban Bihar, inaugurated the Bain Ghar through a Panchashil ceremony when the entire Rajban Bihar area was filled up with the holy sounds of the devotees.
Friday is the last day or main event of the two-day long event that will be held at Rajban Bihar.
In the first part of the programme scheduled to be held in the morning, various donations including 'Panchashil Gharana' will be organised, followed by Buddha idol donation, Ashtapariskar donation, Sanghadan, Pindadan and other donations.
In the second part of the programme, 'Kathin Chibar Dan' programme will be held in the afternoon. The 'Chibar will be donated to the Bhikkhu Sangha. The two-day religious festival will concluded through lighting of candles and flying lanterns.
According to sources of the Rajban Bihar authorities, on the first day, about 200 beins will be woven in the Bein Ghar of Rajban Bihar. About 1,000 men and women are expected to participate this year. Special security measures have been taken by the District Police in and around the Rajban Bihar on the occasion.
