A two-day 'literature fair' began in Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari district on Friday with the aim of highlighting the works of upazila-level writers at the national level.
Deputy Director of local government department of Khagrachhari Nazmun Ara Sultana inaugurated the 'Sahitya Mela' as the chief guest in the Dighinala Upazila Parishad auditorium this morning, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture Affairs with Dighinala Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Muhammad Arafatul Alam in the chair.
Dighinala Upazila Parishad Chairman Alhaj Mohammad Kashem, Deputy Director of the Ethnic Minority Cultural Institute Jiten Chakma, Khagrachhari Press Club President and District Shilpakala Academy General Secretary Jiten Barua and Dighinala Press Club President Jahangir Alam Raju, among others, spoke as special guests.
Anand Mohan Chakma addressed the function as the main speaker.On the first day of the fair, 30 poets of the upazila presented their poems.
Later, the guests visited the various stalls of the fair.
