Bangladesh registered two more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Wednesday, after passing four consecutive days without any Covid death. The total number of deaths has reached to 29,122 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 72 new infections in the meantime taking the totals number of people infected to 1,951,504 according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
The current positivity rate stands 0.89 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.13 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.
Of the two deceased, one was male and another was female. Among them, one was from Rajshahi and one was from Khulna division.
A total of 8,073 samples were tested across the country till 8am Wednesday.
Some 876 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,880,420 and recovery rate stands at 96.36 percent.
As of Wednesday, 6,158,106 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 485,724,934 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
