Miscreants hacked to death two employees of cable operators at Monirampur upazila in Jashore. The incident took place near a brick kiln at Dhakuria village of the upazila around 10:00 pm on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Ahad Mollah, 20, son of Nikmal Mollah of Joyta village in Sadar upazila, and Badal Mahmud, 22, son of Akter Hossain Gazi of the upazila. The deceased were cousins from the neighborhood.
Police recovered a motorcycle and two phones used by from the victims on the spot. Police suspect that the killings may have been planned due to previous enmity.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Salauddin Sikder said that the bodies were seen lying on the side of Dhakuria Road in a bloody condition on Thursday night. The two cousins were working as DIS and net employees under a DIS trader to collect DIS bills and connect Disline. Their bodies were sent to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy, he said.
According to the relatives of the victims, Badal bought a new motorcycle a few days ago.
