Two coal unloaders to be used for Patuakhali 1320 megawatt RPCL-Norinco IPL Power Plant arrived for the first time at the Payra Port of Kalapara of Patuakhali.
The 1250 metric-tonne capacity MVG Sun Mother Vessel carrying the unloaders from China arrived through Ramnabad Channel and anchored at the jetty of RNPL Power plant of Payra port at 11-15 a.m. on Thursday.
Such a large ship with 186.7 metre in length, 46 metre broad and 7.5 metre in depth arrived for the first time through the channel of Payra Port. Chairman of Payra Port along with the Project Director of RNPL Power Plant and the high ups from China were present at the RNPL Jetty during the arrival of the ship.
In addition to the officials and workers of the power plant, hundreds of local curious people thronged the Jetty to have a look at such a large ship.
Aiming at the inauguration of the first unit of 660 megawatt RNPL Power Plant in coming June, these two coal unloaders arrived here from China.
The process of downloading of these coal unloaders will end by tomorrow, authorities of the Power plant informed.
Rear Admiral Abdullah Al Mamun Chowdhury, Chairman of Payra Port, informed with the arrival of goods for 1320 megawatt Payra Power Plant, the arrival of goods for under construction 1320 megawatt RNPL Power plant have also been started.
As a result, the 46 metre wide ship has been anchored direct at the Jetty of the Power Plant which is another addition of success for the Payra Port.
