Two brothers died from electrocution in Narsingdi's Monohardi upazila on Wednesday morning.
The incident took place around 8:30 am at Gakuarkanda village under Shukundi Union of the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Rubel Mia, 30, and Rakibul Hasan, 17, both sons of late Sohrab Hossain, hailed from Mirzaganj upazila in Patuakhali district. They were workers of the Department of Public Health Engineering in the deep tube well installation work.
According to locals, around 10-12 workers including Rubel Mia and Rakibul were working on the installation of a tubewell in one Ahid Mia's house at Gakuarkanda village of the upazila. Around 8:30 am, two brothers came in contact with an electric wire at that time, left them injured.
The people of the house rescued them and rushed to the Manohardi Upazila Health Complex, where they were declared dead by doctors.
Manohardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kashem Bhuiyan confirmed the news.
