Two bodies recovered in capital

Two bodies were recovered from North Mughda and Hatirjheel area in separate incidents in the capital on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Shafiqur Rahman Manik, 50 and Mohammad Rahim, 13, resident of Merul Badda of the capital.

Being informed, police recovered the bodies at around 6:30am and 9:00am from the areas.

Both the bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Morgue for autopsy. Sub-Inspector Shamim Akter of Mugda Police Station said Being informed, we recovered the body of Shafiqur Rahman Manik from North Mugda area and sent to DMCH Morgue.

Quoting relatives, the SI said that Manik died after falling into an open manhole in the morning.

On the other hand, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Ruhul Amin of Hatirjheel Police Station said that we recovered the body of a teenage boy from the footpath near Rampura Bridge under Hatirjheel Project and sent it to DMCH Morgue. 

The reason of his death would be ascertained after getting autopsy report, he added.
