Two bodies recovered from a tree in Satkhira

Kalaroa thana police recovered two dead bodies hanging from the same branch of a mango tree at Sreepatipur village under Kalaroa upazila on Sunday (Feb-7) morning.

Local people opined, the dead bodies belonged to two-lovers and they killed themselves as a sequel of extra-marital affairs. Police, however, said it was not clear whether they were killed or they committed suicide. 

The dead two persons were identified as Fatema Begum (40), wife of Sheikh Hasan of Sreepatipur village and Karim Pare (30) son of Joynal Pare of Daskhinpara Dhumghat of Shyamnagar upazila.

Local UP member Nazrul Islam informed, on Sunday morning Fatema Begum's father-in-law Sheikh Abdul Hye informed him that two persons have committed suicide in his house and he also requested him to inform the incident to police. Later, he informed police. Villagers said, the twin suicide may be linked to extramarital affairs between them. 

Mir Khairul Kabir, Officer-in-charge of Kalaroa police station informed, aroud 7-30 AM he came to learn the incident over mobile phone and recovered the dead bodies. Two dead bodies were hanging in a single rope of the same branch of a mango tree. 

However, it is not yet confirmed why did they die. 

The incident is under investigation. He further informed there was no mark of injury on the body of the youth but the face and throat of the female contain scrach marks. The ded bodies have been sent to the morgue of Satkhira Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
