Two friends were killed and another was injured after a motorcycle hit a road side passenger shed on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway at Shibchar upazila in Madaripur on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Partha Sheel, 20, and his friend Ayon Mondol, 20. They were the students at Elias Ahmed Chowdhury College at Shibchar upazila.
The incident took place at about 1:30pm in front of the Bandarkhola passenger shed at the upazila.
Md Shakil Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibchar Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter.
According to the OC, Partha and Ayon were returning home after completing college on a motorcycle. On the way home, the motorcycle hit a passenger shed, leaving the duo dead on the spot and another critically injured. The injured person was sent to Dhaka.
