Local dance troupe Turongomi Repertory Dance Theatre premiered its new dance theatre production ‘Ho Chi Minh’ at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on Thursday.
The production revolves around the life, works and political career of the Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh. It also gives the audience a brief glimpse into the life of Russian revolutionary, politician, and political theorist Vladimir Lenin.
Turongomi premiered ‘Waterness’, the first-ever dance theatre in Bangladesh, on January 21. In the last four years, the repertory has brought many short length choreographies to its audience, but ‘Ho Chi Minh’ is the full-length dance theatre by Turongomi after Waterness.
Ho Chi Minh-Biography Dance Theatre is produced and performed by Turongomi Repertory Dance Theatre. The production is conceptualised, scripted, designed, choreographed and directed by Pooja Sengupta while music is done by Suman Sarkar.
The dance theatre production will be staged again today at the same venue marking the National Day of Vietnam.
The production is supported by the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Bangladesh.
