‘Tungiparar Miya Bhai’ to air on TV Mar 17

The film titled ‘Tungi Parar Miya Bhai’ is a film directed by Selim Khan and scripted by Shamim Ahmed Rony, based on various events such as childhood, adolescence and youth of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. For the first time the film will premiere for free on all government and private TV channels of the country, under the instructions of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry marking the occasion of Bangabandhu’s 102nd birthday. 

On Thursday March 10 the directive was issued in a circular signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Information Muhammad Maqbool Hossain. Last year, in April the movie was released in theaters. Then in July, the Ministry of Education was directed to screen this movie in all secondary and higher secondary educational institutions of the country.

Earlier, the film was screened at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, India on August 8 last year on the occasion of the 91st birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib.

The film titled ‘Tungipara’r Miya Bhai’ was produced by Story Splash Production. Shanto Khan has played the role of young Bangabandhu in the movie and young actress Prarthana Fardin Dighi  played the role of Renu.   

Apart from Shanto Khan and Dighi, Shiba Shanu, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Majnun Mijan, Dilara Zaman, Naznin Hasan Chumki, Subrata and others have also stared in this movie. The film was shot in FDC, Chandpur and Dhaka University areas. According to those concerned, this is the first movie made by FDC based on the life of Bangabandhu.
