Former vocalist Tanzir Tuhin did not leave the claim for the band's songs despite leaving the band. Their songs are regularly performed on various stage shows. But there are widespread objections from the band regarding this issue. From that objection, last year a meeting was held at the copyright office where the copyright board forbade Tuhin from singing the band’s songs.
After the copyright board, the civil court also banned Tuhin from singing Shironamhin’s songs. Tuhin lost in a lawsuit titled ‘Shironamhin Band Vs Avas Band Music' filed in March this year. Dhaka District Judge's Court has issued a judicial order against Tuhin for not singing Shironamhin’s songs.
According to the court's ruling, "No song by the Shironamhin band can be sung by Tanjir Tuhin and his Avas band."
SHironamhin band lawyer Iftabul Kamal Ayon told, “We have filed a case as there has been a loss of Tk 33 lakh. There, Tuhin and his band have been banned from singing songs o Shironamhin. The court has given the verdict in just six months, considering the importance of our complaint.”
When contacted Tanzir Tuhin, he first objected to the verdict. He later said, "I will not comment on the pending issues. I appealed against the verdict. I will do music as my choice until the matter is settled.”
According to the Dhaka District Judge Court, no appeal or objection has been received so far in this case. The verdict was also fixed October 22 for the filing of any appeal on this issue.
In October, the vocalist of the group, Tanzir Tuhin, left Shironamhin. At that time, his decision surprised the audience of country. The Bengali singer was also widely criticized for clashing with the then band leader Ziaur Rahman.
Later in 2018 Tuhin formed a band named Avas.
