US President Donald Trump has pledged that Iran and Israel “will make a deal” to pause their conflict, insisting that “many calls and meetings (are) now taking place” to get both sides to halt fighting.
“Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal, just like I got India and Pakistan to make,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday morning. He also cited the long-running animosity between Serbia and Kosovo, and between Egypt and Ethiopia, both of which flared up during his first term in office.
“Likewise, we will have PEACE, soon, between Israel and Iran! Many calls and meetings now taking place,” Trump wrote.
“I do a lot, and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK, the PEOPLE understand. MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN!”
