BNP-backed Pro-blockade activists torched a poultry feed-laden truck at the Mougachhi Nandahat crossing under Mohanpur Upazila of the district around 3-00 p.m. Monday.
The truck was completely burnt but there was no incident of any casualty. Later on, local people rushed to the scene and put out the fire.
Haridas Mondal, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohanpur police station informed, a truck (Dhaka Metro Na 15-8852) carrying poultry feed was set ablaze by a gang of pro-BNP miscreants in Nandahat area of Mohanpur. He further said, around 3-00 p.m. miscreants on five motorbikes arrived at the Nandahat and forced to stop the truck. The miscreants damaged the truck by breaking the glass window panes with sticks and rods and then they put the truck on fire.
Three persons in the truck including the driver and the helpers managed to escape before the burning of the truck. Later, local people put out the fire using water and sand. Legal action is underway in this connection, the OC mentioned.
