A goat-laden truck plunged into a pond next to Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, on Friday. Two people including the truck helper were killed in the incident.
The deceased were identified as Jakaria Hossain 40, son of Islam Mandol of Techulia village under Sadar Police Station of Jashore district and Hasan Mia 30, hailed from Jaypurhat district.
Liton Ahmed, Senior Station Officer of Fire Service, confirmed the matter. He said, “The incident took place at Jorpul area of Savar around 3:00 am on early Friday. Later, on information a team of fire service rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation. We found 2 dead bodies from the scene, also all the livestock (Goat) of the truck have been found dead. The recovered bodies were sent to hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
