A motorcycle rider has been killed when his motorbike collided head-on with a Truck at Boalmari Pol area on Jashore-Khulna highway under Abhaynagar upazila in the district on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Jihad Kamal alias Jitu,24, son late Tagor Sheikh of Guakhola village under the upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Noapara Highway Thana Hamid Uddin Ahmad said, the accident occurred in the area at 9:00 pm while a Khulna bound Truck collided head-on with a motorcycle from opposite direction, leaving motorcycle rider Jihad Kamal alias Jitu injured on
the spot.The injured Jihad was taken to Abhaynagar upazila health complex.Then he was shifted to Khulna Medical College hospital as his condition deteriorated, where he succumbed to his injuries at 11:30 pm. The Truck and the Motorcycle were seized, the OC said.
A case was filed in Abhaynagar Police Station in this connection.
