A man was killed and eight others were injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a rod-laden truck in front of the Adamdighi Upazila Health Complex of the district Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as truck driver Imran Hossain, 24, son of Abdus Sattar of Konail village under Manda upazila of Naogaon district.
The accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Naogaon collided head-on with a rod-laden truck coming from the opposite direction in the area around 7:30am this morning, leaving truck driver dead on the spot and eight persons, including the driver and helper of the passenger bus, injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Adamdighi Police Station Rajesh Kumar Chakraborty said.
The injured were taken to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital, he said.
Police seized the bus and truck from the spot.
A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
