‘Tribute to Dubai’ art exhibition begins

Bangladeshi artist Mahfuzur Rahaman contributes to the show

A two-month group art exhibition began at the Pullman Hotel in Dubai Creek, Deira, Dubai on Friday (January 20).

Organised by UAE's largest art community Funun Arts, the exhibition has featured 28 international artists from 12 different nationalities showcasing their paintings that represented the transformation, heritage, and history of Dubai. 

Prominent Emirati artist Abdul Qader Al Rais inaugurated the show as the chief guest while Sultana Kazim Ma’am joined the inauguration event as the guest of honour, and Faisal Abdul Qader, Bassam Nader and Maitha Al Balooshi as special guests, says press release received in Dhaka on Sunday.

Among the artists who showcased their work at the exhibition was Bangladeshi artist Mahfuzur Rahman. Rahman's painting, "Pride and Prejudice," was one of the most striking pieces on display, depicting the blissful and colorful sky over the Burj Al-Arab and an old sail ship, expressing the transformation of Dubai in 50 years.

The founder of Funun Arts Shiba Khan and Farah Khan expressed their gratitude to the guests and all of the artists who participated in the event. 

Guinness world record holder and prominent Bangladeshi artist Mahfuzur Rahman once again represented Bangladesh and contributed to the Tribute to Dubai event.

Mahfuzur Rahman said he was thankful to the almighty and Funun Arts for providing him with such a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to Dubai. He also mentioned that as a Bangladeshi he was proud to represent his country at such a prestigious occasion.

The exhibition will remain open until March 20th, 2023, at the Artist Playground of Pullman Dubai Creek Deira City Centre. Visitors have been invited to come and view the works of the talented artists, and appreciate the transformation, heritage, and history of Dubai.
