The students of Government Tolaram College and different professionals observed a sit-in protest programme demanding exemplary trial of rapists and women persecutors including the gang rape incident of Noakhali district.
On September 2, a gang of criminals at Eklaspur village under Begumganj upazila in Noakhali district tied the husband of a housewife, raped her and snapped her naked body, posted in the Internet and it became viral in the social media.
After 32 days, the victim filed a case on September 4 with police accusing nine men that created a
much talked incident and the law enforcers began a drive to capture the criminals.
RAB-11 members conducted raids in Dhaka and Narayanganj and arrested four including prime accused Deloar. The arrestees were identified as Deloar, Badal, Kalam and Rahim.
In the protest program on Chashara Shaheed Minar yard in the town, the students with different placards demanded the trial of all rape and women repression incidents including exemplary punishments of the accused so that no such incident would happen in future.
