Esmotara Begum, wife of slain Billal Gazi of Char-Kushli village under Kushli Union of Tungipara under Gopalganj district at a press conference held at the Office of Mofussal Journalists’ Union of Gopalganj on Monday noon, demanded immediate arrest and trial of the killers of her husband.
It is learnt, as a sequel to previous enmity, Billal Gazi who came to the house of his father-in-law after eight years, was brutally killed by the opponent group of people inside a Banana orchard. Later, his dead body was dragged to the house of the killers.
Esmotara Begum in the press conference informed, she had been living in India with her husband and the minor children. During Eid, she arrived with her husband at the house of her father at Char Kushli village. While staying at the house of her father, some miscreants on the dead night of Sunday (7 April) knocked at the door of the room they were staying in. By opening the door, she found four to five persons armed with lathis (sticks) were searching for her husband Billal Gazi. Sensing danger, she told her husband to escape from the back door and he ran towards the Banana orchard to save his life. But, the miscreants chased him and killed him by hitting him with sticks and dragging the dead body of her husband to their house.
She further mentioned those who allegedly killed her husband were identified as (1) Nannu Molla son of Fazar Molla of Char Kuhsli village,(2) Mohammad Shikder son of Nur Hossain Shikder of Kushli Daskhinpara,(3) Alamgir Molla and (4) Anu Molla sons of Akram Molla of village Char Kushli, (5) Bulbul alias Bulu son of Khoka Molla of village Char Kuhsli,(6) Imon Molla and (7) Tariqul Molla sons of Nannu Molla of village Char Kuhsli, (8) Shaheda wife of Akram Molla,(9) Bithi wife of Alamgir Molla,(10) Rehana wife of Sarwar,(11) Rupa Akhter daughter of Sarowar Molla all belonged to village Char Kuhsli under Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj district.
Later, police arrived at the village and recovered the dead body of her husband from the house of the killers. Esmotara wife of slain Billal Gazi filed a murder case at Tungipara Police Station in this connection.
She demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the killers of her husband. Relatives including the Mother of slain Billal and his sons were present at the press conference.
Khandker Aminur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Tungipara Police Station informed, already two accused in the case have already been arrested and sent to jail through court. Police were conducting a drive to arrest other accused of the case, he added.
